5 Stars Works with iPod Nano 4G
Not sure why folk are having an issue with this working with the new Nanos … works fine with my black Nano 4G .. once you enable TV Out, connect the cable to iPod/RCA plugs, then go to your video and you’re done … and at this price, it’s a steal!
5 Stars It Works!
My earlier review was based on the fast shipping and not the product so now we have it out of the box. I have an 80GB Classic. Thank you to those who posted better directions because none came in or on the box. I’m also puzzled why this cable came with an extra USB connection when the picture does not show this. Hhmm, something for the future perhaps to provide more options? Make SURE you have a solid connection between the iPod and the cable. Once we went through all the connection menus and settings (on a Sony Bravia TV and on the iPod) we finally resorted to good old fashioned cable jiggling – problem solved! The picture quality is good and we were also able to view video podcasts that we had downloaded. We weren’t looking for theater quality but are still quite amazed that something so small can hold so much a variety of media options and still look and sound good! Hey, what can I say; I grew up when 8-track tapes were the rage!
5 Stars Works perfectly for my 80GB iPod Classic
This cable works perfectly with my 80GB iPod Classic with latest firmware. I am not sure what the problem is that others have experienced. As another reviewer mentioned, it is necessary to ensure that: 1) your iPod has video output turned on; and 2) that you are inputting the iPod into the correct RCA connectors on one’s television.
It is possible that there are issues with later-model iPods. I cannot speak to that because I have only used this cable with my iPod classic (80GB).
The iPod has become the platform of choice for all movies and songs in our family, rapidly rendering the DVD players obsolete. So at least for the 80GB iPod Classic, this cable is a Godsend, since it is cheap, and therefore practical to have one hooked up to each of our TV sets permanently, for convenience.
5 Stars It works!
I have used it with a Nano (3rd generation) and a Touch (first generation with fully updated firmware), and this cable works GREAT! I download newscasts from France and Germany in podcast form and then watch them on my HD TV. The picture quality is much better than VHS but not quite as good as DVD quality. This is a must have item for IPod users.
5 Stars Works great
I simply plugged it into the 2nd gen Touch on one end and the ports I use for gaming on the other end, no special settings, and it worked like a charm. Nice quality picture, decent sound. (My first test was an iTunes TV show I’d purchased). Considering the low cost for this little item, buying it is a no-brainer.
