this will allow you to listen only(not charge your battery)to your ipod shuffle in the car. Priced right.
5 Stars Great for the car
I bought this cable so I could connect my Zune to my deck in my car and it works very well. It can lock itself at a certain length but can also retract back to default position (like shown in picture here) without any difficulty and tangling. Sound quality is very good and it’s very possible to blast music without any distortions. Cord is perfect size for almost any vehicle. Decent price, easy and gets the job done.
4 Stars great little cord for the car
I previously bought this cord about a year and a half ago. Before that cord, I bought a $20 Belkin one at the Apple store that lasted only about 6 months. Over time, the cord will start to wear and you’ll get staticy sound, so I am ready for a new one. I was impressed at how this $5 cord outlasted the name brand $20 one I bought at Apple. I am re-purchasing 2 today (one for the car & one for my home stereo). The length is long enough for the car and home. To keep the cord life lasting, it’s best to retract it when not in use and don’t keep it hanging from the auxillary input (I think that’s how it wears, because of the cord being bent all the time). Anyway – this is a great value.

I can’t believe I even paid $5 for this rubbish:
1) 6 feet? Not even close.
2) The whole “retractable” part doesn’t work. Pull the cable out once and…BAM! You’re done. No more retraction. Nada. Zilch.
3) The construction is about as cheap as the manufacturer could get away with while still meeting the basic product description.
Finally, even sound quality on this piece of refuse is awful. I ended up spending MORE money to get a quality cable.
Pass on this one. Spend a few bucks more and get something that actually works

This is an awesome product my other cables kept wearing out cause they would get trampled on, tangled or bent. Now I don’t have to worry about that cause this cable protects itself.
