5 Stars Makes GREAT helmet speakers
I’ve been using the Koss Titanium headphones to make motorcycle helmets speakers for myself and my friends, but lately I’ve had a hard time finding them locally. I decided to try these since I’ve been impressed with the Koss brand. Although they don’t have the inline volume control of the Titaniums, these were so much simpler to modify and install. I simply popped the ear pieces off and the speakers slipped right inside of the speaker pockets inside the helmet. Taped the wires under the liner – done! The music from my iPod is very clear and not distorted when I’m riding and I don’t have to turn the volume wide open to hear them. The price and the quality of these beat any “helmet speakers” I’ve tried in the past.

1 Star Cheap, for a reason
One of the earpieces fell off on first day. I could put it back on, but it would randomly fall off, in my bags, while I was wearing it, etc.

I ended up buying another pair of headphones because I couldn’t take the annoyance of trying to keep these together.

4 Stars works for me
They fit nicely and I can still hear my surroundings. Good for work. I like the long cord. Once in a while one side pops off while in my bag but snaps right back on. As long as I don’t lose it, it will be fine.

5 Stars I love my Koss headphones
I’ve always really liked the sound from my Koss headphones. But I like this pair even more than my previous ones. My only complaint about past Koss headphones was an inline volume control. Given that I primarily use these when working out, that was a repeated invitation to shorts due to sweat invading the circuit. However, without that volume control (which was nice, but ultimately superfluous), no more shorts! The sound is great, and I look forward to holding on to this pair longer than my previous ones.

Great headphones, except for clips that attach to ears – often they snap off.

It’s easy to snap back on, but sometimes, you can lose one.

1 Star Bose 3 junk Can only rate it XXX
My Bose 2 fell apart and Bose would not exchange the set. So for $100.00 more I ordered the Bose 3. (Which I was told, I could not return.) Upon arrival the little pieces of black plastic were broken and the ear piece would not stay on. Try as we might to tape it together, the ear piece would not stay in place. I had purchased at least five sets of Bose 2 for family members, as well as the radio and CD Players, and therefore expected the best quality from Bose. In my estimation, Bose produced a bunch of junk and depended on their reputation to get through. I am sorely disappointed in them and judge the product XXX.

5 Stars Perfect stereo sound, perfect comfort, just what I needed
I have read many of the other Amazon reviews for Bose Quiet Comfort 3 headphones, and I recall reading about “ear pain” and “humming noises” “muddy sound” and other anamolies & problems regarding the noise cancellation feature. Of course I rather not to read others’ criticisms until I actually get the product and try them myself. So after receiving my pair of headphones I can loudly say that I do NOT agree with many of the criticisms of other reviewers.

Most importantly, Bose Quiet Comfort 3 provides the best sound I’ve ever heard. The stereo sound is breathtaking. Never in my life have I heard so many sounds and instruments, many of which were usually tucked away in other sound systems. Bose does a great job of revealing all the instrument parts.

Because of its high resolution, however, the headphones can reveal the limitations of the original source recording. Therefore, many monaural (non stereo) and poorly recorded recordings might not sound too good in headphones. Bose is for stereo sound, professionally recorded in the studio. Any well-recorded piece of music will be enhanced in ways you might have not concieved with another kind of headphone.

I feel that the noise cancellation feature is more than adequate. Yes it doesn’t completely block out extraneous sound, but I don’t think it needs to do so. When I’m wearing the headphones, I’d rather know what’s going on in my surroundings. I don’t want to be totally unaware thru complete sound reduction. Nevertheless, there is enough noise cancellation so you can hear the music from the headphones withoug too much distraction.

I have yet to bring the headphones on an airplane, but I am sure they will be serviceable when the time comes. By the way, I don’t recall the sounds of the airplane being too oppressive!! (are they??!!??) I know that these headphones were designed for the air traveler in mind.

But I still feel that the biggest noise problem on board are crying children, obnoxious tourists!!! Therefore the noise cancellation feature works best to cancel out the obnoxious person sitting next to you.

After about an hour of headphone time, I can say that they are comfortable. NO EAR PAIN!! Some people just might have sensitive ears. But mine were fine. It’s a comfortable headphone.

Bottom line: save up some money or use that tax refund check to invest in an amazing piece of electronics. Bose is the best in stereo sound, and the best in headphone technology. Highly recommended. A++

I have trouble wearing ear buds and needed headphones. The sound on these is very clear and with the noise canceling feature I can keep the volumn low and still enjoy the music. They are expensive but are worth the extra expense for the quality you get.

1 Star One year product
Have owned 3 Nose Noise Cancellers – thus that should prove that the technology was convincing for me as a frequent traveler !

Yet I rate it at one star since I am fed up with the fact that they always break after one year.

4 Stars Great for the price
ok I paid 40 for these actually ordered mine though B&H one of the things that impresses me most is that they have clothe on the cord not plastic. which has eliminated one of my biggest pet peeves buying a headset and ending up with one ear plug longer then the other. this unit is so durable I accidentally washed them today full cycle and dryer too. They still work perfect. Sound wise they sound better the my brother Bose set IMO though if you do listen to them low you will hear noise from your clothes as other have mentioned a little frustrating yes but a good trade for the sound quality, durability, sound, and price! I’m personally very happy with this set. actually rate it 4 1/2 stars over all

4 Stars Good for the money, but could be better.
These headphones (UHP326) do what is most important — blow the standard Apple headphones that come with iPods out of the water. That said, the sound requires tinkering with the iPod equalizer to get just right. Another small quibble: though I really like the durable, heavy cord, it’s very, well, heavy, which means that while exercising it tends to pull on the ear plugs a bit, making it a necessity that when you wear these, you really put them deeply into your ear. Overall, though, for the price, I highly recommend them.

3 Stars Great sound but not so great ergonomically
These ear buds deliver great sound and seal out outside noise well. On the downside I found even the smallest adapter made my ears sore after prolonged listening. The woven cord also transmits as sound any contact with ones clothing straight to ones ears, which is annoying.

These in-ear headphones work great. What makes them great? The sound at low or high levels, the comfort, the cloth cord, the price. I could never keep the regular type earphones in for very long without them irritating my ears, the in-ear makes a huge difference.

Right up there with the V Moda Vibes, in which I paid twice as much for.

They seem to be a little more durable as well.

5 Stars Review for newbies
I’ve previously owned a Sennheiser PX100, a pair of Etymotic ER6i’s, and I was very pleased with both, especially the PX100 for its warm quality.

Let me say this to new buyers moving up from, say, iPod earbuds: Good headphones allow you to better connect with your music without the barrier of bad sound quality. Poorly made headphones will distort and misrepresent your music, and while the sounds you hear from them may seem impressive at first, they tend to make music tiring and annoying after a while because the sound they produce is not natural, not accurate, and not what your ears and brain are used to. Headphones from bose and skullcandy that I bought and returned, (they cost $80~140, similar to the HD555.) for example, sounded lively and exciting at first, but after a while they sounded tinny or thin or muddy, and overall unnatural and ugly.

The Sennheiser HD555s were the opposite. They aren’t bass monsters and don’t sound as forward as some headphones do, but that is a good thing. They are balanced and accurate (especially for this price range), and that does not mean they are sterile-sounding or bland. I feel the 555s allowed me to actually listen to my music as it was meant to sound for the first time. Classical music had rumbling power, clear articulations, and great balance. Electronica was highly enjoyable with lively, pulsating synth sounds and a good punch on bass-heavy beats. Rock, light and heavy, was clear and undistorted, but had power where it was needed. Did I mention the HD555s are extremely versatile?

If you are worried about the bass, I will say that the HD555s are not necessarily bass-heavy, and I have heard that there are warmer sounding and more punchy headphones. If bass is ALL you care about, I don’t recommend these cans; instead try something at your local store. However, the HD555s are not “anemic” in bass; the bass is true and tight (meaning a bass drum sounds like a bass drum and not a door slam or a trash can being kicked) and I find I can bob my head to strong beats and very strongly feel the powerful impact of an orchestra hit.

These are open headphones, so you can hear a little bit of your music from outside, but I don’t find it a problem. I would not worry about it unless you plan to listen to music during lectures or meetings.

In comparison to several other similarly priced headphones I prefer the 555s because they are so versatile and clean-sounding, but the best thing you can do is listen and see for yourself what sound you like from headphones. I’ve tried the AD700s, (not versatile enough for me) the HD280s (Good closed headphone, but sounds a little sterile), and the Grado SR80s (these are okay).

Overall I think these are very good cans and are well worth the $89. If you are serious about listening to music these headphones are a great choice.

5 Stars Sennheiser Happiness
I decided to get back to a set of phones after quite a few years without so I checked with a higher end audio dealer that I have done some business with and been happy with his suggestions. Although Walter doesn’t carry headphones, his first recommendation was Sennheiser. He was right. The HD-555 was on sale at Amazon for an attractive price and their specs met my needs.

Hooked into the headphone amplifer of my Cary SLI-80 they sounded good right out of the box. After about 30 hours on them, they opened up to great. Highs are crisp & clean, but not harsh or grating. The mids are also extremely good and the bass is substantial and clean.

The open ear design allows me to keep track of my surroundings without intrusion of irrelevant sounds.

5 Stars QUESTION
Okay for those who have this product please respond back for me. I don’t wanna have to go to a message board to ask questions about this product. I want to buy these headphones and I feel that they must be good. With 150 Five Stars. I love listening to music, and I mostly listen to 80′s Rock/Glam Metal. With plenty of bass. Not too much where it sounds distorted. I just like the “Driving” sound in it. So would these headphones suit for someone who likes to listen to my style of music. A weird question, I know. But I just wanna know before I go and spend $90.00

2 Stars Looks can be deceiving
Well I ordered these headphones purely based on the fact that they are Sennheiser.

First of all these headphones are quite uncomfortable. They are tight around the ears and puts undo pressure on the head.

The sound quality is mediocore and people can hear whatever you are listening to. The bass is almost nonexisitant and the highs are too high.

Just ordered a second set of these headphones and mic, very confortable, toally adjustable, and the sound is perfect for online gaming. I use these primarly for gaming, shooter style games, lots of explosions and sound effects, and these headphones make it atleast 9 times better. I speak to other players online, thru mic, and several have asked what Im using, because Im clear as day. I ordered a second pair for my wife. I payed 19.99 at best buy for exact same set. Great Deal! Great sound!

The headphones sound good, and they fit well, they aren’t too tight, some thing you have to look out for in headphones fitting over your ears- all in all, a good deal for the price.

My brother lives overseas, so it was nice to be able to utilize the headset for our skype account.

The headset works great. The sound is clear. The headset is comfortable. The mic is adjustable.

1 Star You get what you pay for!
I had the headset for about three weeks when the microphone stopped working, headset sound still worked. The headset looked and felt decent, but I was disappointed that it failed so early. Also the small plastic piece on the left year pad came apart so it moved freely until I taped it up. Next time I will look ata better made headset.

4 Stars Not USB, oterhwise OK
Although this headset comes up in a search for USB headsets, it’s not USB. It plugs into the headphone and mic sockets on a computer. If you want USB, keep looking.
